Since the opening of the Donald W. Reynolds Center in 1998, Tulsa’s athletic facilities have undergone a major facelift. New facilities include the Michael D. Case Tennis Center, the Collins Family Softball Complex, the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium, the J. Bird Sr. Shell Nest, the Jack Zink Indoor Rowing Center, the Case Athletic Complex and major renovation to H.A. Chapman Stadium.
TU is 75th among national doctoral universities in U. S. News & World Report's 2012 edition of America's Best Colleges. TU's 2011 freshman class had a mean cumulative grade point average of 3.8, and 74 percent graduated in the top 10 percent of their high school classes. Their average ACT was 28.
The Golden Hurricane Club, as the primary fundraising arm of TU Athletics, works to provide every TU student-athlete with the opportunity to realize a world-class athletic and academic experience.
SENIOR (2011): Participated in six meets, which included a trip to the NCAA Championship . . . placed 163rd overall and third on team in Terre Haute with a 10K time of 31:21.3 . . . finished ninth at the Conference USA Championship with a career-best 8K of 24:13.3 to help lead TU to a second-straight league crown . . . landed on the all-C-USA Second Team . . . finished 30th at the NCAA Midwest Regional (32:04.08) . . . finished 41st at NCAA Pre-Nationals (25:03) . . . placed 13th at the Houston Duel (20:13) and 107th at the OSU Jamboree (25:52.70) . . . finished in the top five for TU in his last four races.
JUNIOR (2010): Marshall ran in four events during his first season with TU, helping the Golden Hurricane claim the Conference USA Championship . . . finished eighth at the conference championship and earned a spot on the all-C-USA Second Team with a personal-best 8K time of 24:14 . . . finished his 10K at the NCAA Midwest Regional in 31:17.60 and placed 50th overall . . . also ran at the Notre Dame Invitational and Pre-Nationals . . . contributed to the overall team score (top five team finish) in three of his four events.
PREVIOUS COLLEGE (University of Wales, 2008-09): Marshall came to Tulsa after spending two years at the University of Wales . . . his best time in the 1,500 meters was 3:49, his fastest time in the 3,000 meters was 8:16 and his personal best in the 5,000 meters was 14:25 . . . his personal best in the 5K was 14:39 and his fastest 10K was 30:12 . . . earned 40 Welsh International vests . . . served as a captain for the Welsh International team . . . was the senior Welsh champion in the 5K road race . . . placed third in the U23 British AAA 5,000 championships.
