11/21/2011 Tulsa Finishes 25th At NCAA XC ChampionshipHeyes paces TU with 64th-place finish, Whiting takes 49th 11/20/2011 TU Men, Whiting Head To NCAA ChampionshipsMen will run at 11:08 a.m., women to compete at 11:58 a.m. 10/28/2011 Men, Women Look to Defend C-USA Crowns in HoustonMen's 8K to begin at 9 a.m., women's 6K to begin at 10 a.m. 10/14/2011 Tulsa XC Travels to Terre Haute for NCAA Pre-NationalsGolden Hurricane travel to site of 2011 NCAA Championships for tune-up event PERSONAL BESTS JUNIOR (2011): Participated in four races, including his first trip to the NCAA Championship . . . finished 221st overall and seventh on the team in Terre Haute with a 10K mark of 32:06.0 . . . clocked an 8K mark of 24:35.3 to finish 13th at the Conference USA Championship . . . named to the all-C-USA Second Team . . . placed 10th at the Houston Duel with a personal record in the four mile (19:57) . . . also ran at the OSU Jamboree (26:59.07). SOPHOMORE (2010): Competed in his first four events for TU . . . finished 12th overall and seventh on the team with an 8K time of 24:23 to help lead Tulsa to a Conference USA Championship . . . earned a spot on the all-C-USA Second Team . . . finished sixth overall and third on the team at the season-opening Hurricane Festival with a four-mile time of 20:06 . . . was TU's top runner at the Chile Pepper Festival, finishing 91st overall with a 10K time of 31:31.71. REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2009): Did not compete in any events. FRESHMAN (2008): Redshirted. HIGH SCHOOL: A three-time letterwinner in track and a four-time letterwinner in cross country . . . named all-state in the 1600m and 3200m as a senior . . . ran a personal-best in the 1600m (4:15) at the Missouri State Championships during his senior year . . . finished fifth at the state meet in cross country as a senior . . . state runner-up in the 3200m as a junior . . . set a personal-record in the 3200m with a time of 9:22 at the Mizzou Relays as a junior . . . earned one letter in wrestling . . . named to the Hickman Athletic Hall of Fame . . . high school coach was Steve Kissane. PERSONAL: Majoring in exercise sport science . . . enjoys playing soccer, table tennis and building random objects from scratch . . . goal in life is to become an athletic director for a major university . . . sports inspiration is his late father, David Masters . . . son of Ginger Masters . . . has six siblings . . . born October 13, 1989. |
