Since the opening of the Donald W. Reynolds Center in 1998, Tulsa’s athletic facilities have undergone a major facelift. New facilities include the Michael D. Case Tennis Center, the Collins Family Softball Complex, the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium, the J. Bird Sr. Shell Nest, the Jack Zink Indoor Rowing Center, the Case Athletic Complex and major renovation to H.A. Chapman Stadium.
TU is 75th among national doctoral universities in U. S. News & World Report's 2012 edition of America's Best Colleges. TU's 2011 freshman class had a mean cumulative grade point average of 3.8, and 74 percent graduated in the top 10 percent of their high school classes. Their average ACT was 28.
The Golden Hurricane Club, as the primary fundraising arm of TU Athletics, works to provide every TU student-athlete with the opportunity to realize a world-class athletic and academic experience.
Both the TU men's and women's squads earn all-academic status for 2012 season, while four members of the men's squad were named to the All-Academic squad
SENIOR (2011): Saw action in six races for TU, which included his first trip to the NCAA Championship . . . finished second on the team and 90th overall in Terre Haute with a career-best 10K of 30:43.4 . . . placed 10th overall and fifth on the team at the Conference USA Championship with a PR 8K of 24:15.6 . . . finished 16th at the NCAA Midwest Regional and paced the Golden Hurricane with a 10K mark of 31:39.53 . . . was named to the all-C-USA Second Team and the All-Midwest Region Team . . . took home top honors at the Houston Duel with a career-best four mile of 19:05 . . . finished 18th at the OSU Jamboree (24:33.91) and took 30th at NCAA Pre-Nationals (24:49) . . . led TU in four races and was second once.
JUNIOR (2010): Ran for Tulsa in two events during his first season with the program . . . was part of the TU squad that won the Conference USA Championship, posting a 15th-place finish with a career-best 8K time of 24:31 . . . earned a spot on the all-C-USA Third Team . . . factored into the team score with a fifth-place team finish at the Notre Dame Invitational.
PRIOR TO TU: Won the U-23 National Championship in the 5,000 meters in 2009 . . . placed second in the U-23 National Championship in 2009 and 2010 . . . won the national junior championship in the 3,000 meters and 5,000 meters in 2007 . . . his best time in the 5K was 14:22 and his best time in the 3K was 8:15.
