Since the opening of the Donald W. Reynolds Center in 1998, Tulsa’s athletic facilities have undergone a major facelift. New facilities include the Michael D. Case Tennis Center, the Collins Family Softball Complex, the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium, the J. Bird Sr. Shell Nest, the Jack Zink Indoor Rowing Center, the Case Athletic Complex and major renovation to H.A. Chapman Stadium.
TU is 75th among national doctoral universities in U. S. News & World Report's 2012 edition of America's Best Colleges. TU's 2011 freshman class had a mean cumulative grade point average of 3.8, and 74 percent graduated in the top 10 percent of their high school classes. Their average ACT was 28.
The Golden Hurricane Club, as the primary fundraising arm of TU Athletics, works to provide every TU student-athlete with the opportunity to realize a world-class athletic and academic experience.
JUNIOR (2011): Saw action in five meets . . . finished eighth at the Conference USA Championship with a career-best 5K mark of 17:33.5 . . . was named to the all-C-USA Second Team . . . placed 50th at the NCAA Midwest Regional (22:25.04) . . . ran a season-best 6K at NCAA Pre-Nationals (22:12) . . . placed 18th at the OSU Jamboree (17:58.54) . . . finished third overall at the Houston Duel with a PR two-mile time of 10:50 . . . was second or third for Tulsa in all but one race.
SOPHOMORE (2010): Was one of two runners to compete in all seven events . . . posted career bests in all three distances . . . helped Tulsa claim the Conference USA Championship and was part of the first women's team in school history to compete at the NCAA Championships . . . finished Nationals with a 6K time of 23:19.0 and a 242nd-place finish . . . placed 20th with a personal-best 5K time of 17:40 at the C-USA Championship, earning a spot on the all-C-USA Third Team . . . ran a personal-best 6K time of 21:31.64 at the NCAA Midwest Regional, finishing 58th for the second-straight year . . . finished the 2-mile Hurricane Festival with an eighth-place finish and a career-best time of 11:16 . . . placed 11th overall at the Missouri Stampede . . . finished either fifth or sixth on the team in all six team events, and paced TU at the Chile Pepper Festival with a 51st-place finish.
FRESHMAN (2009): Best result of the season was a 16th-place finish in the 5K at the Missouri State Classic . . . also placed 18th at the Hurricane Festival (2 mile) . . . finished 43rd at the Conference USA Championships and took 58th at the NCAA Midwest Regional.
HIGH SCHOOL: Was a four-year letterwinner in track and cross country at St. Clair High School . . . a four-time Class 3A all-state cross country and track performer . . . finished third at the state cross country meet as a sophomore and placed second as a senior . . . was a third-place finisher in the 1,600m and the 3,200m at the state track meet during senior season.
PERSONAL: Majoring in exercise sport science . . . her favorite local restaurant is Hideaway Pizza . . . most memorable place she has visited is Aruba . . . daughter of Paul and Catherine Scott . . . born April 9, 1991.
