TULSA, Okla. - The University of Tulsa Cross Country teams kicked off the 2012 season with the Hurricane XC Festival at Mohawk Park on a warm and clear Saturday morning.

Junior Josie Wilcox finished second in the two-mile race, running 11:07, and was followed by TU senior Jaclyn Rollins, who finished third in 11:16. Oklahoma's Jessica Engel won the women's individual title with a time of 10:57.

Sophomore Larissa Erickson finished 12th with a time of 11:48, sophomore Lauren Collette was right behind her with a time of 11:53, and senior Tricity Andrew rounded out the TU scoring with a time of 12:11.

On the men's side, junior James Keilbarth led the Hurricane pack, finishing the four-mile race in eighth place in 20:55. He was followed in order by junior Emmett Cookson (20:58), sophomore Brian Tabb (21:04), sophomore Adam Johnson (21:22) and sophomore Aaron Thornburg (21:23). Oklahoma State took the top seven spots, as Taylor Monaghan won the individual title in 20:35.

The Tulsa women finished 4-1 in the team competition, finishing ahead of Oklahoma (24-35), Northwestern State (15-49), Missouri State (21-37) and John Brown (15-50). Oklahoma State claimed a narrow 25-31 victory over TU.

The Hurricane men finished 3-1 in the team standings, besting Oklahoma (15-40), Northwestern State (15-40), and John Brown (15-40). Oklahoma State took a 15-40 decision over TU.
