JOPLIN, Mo. - Led by Dennis Hodapp and Sarah Macpherson, The University of Tulsa cross country teams took home the men's and women's titles in wet conditions Saturday morning at the Missouri Southern Stampede.

Hodapp ran the 8K in 24:57.11, finishing second to lead the Golden Hurricane to the men's team victory with 41 points. Macpherson also finished second overall in the 5K, posting a time of 17:33.69 to lead the TU women the team win with 19 points.

The Hurricane women landed among six of the top 10 finishers, including five of the top seven spots. Brandi Krieg took fourth place with a time of 17:35.86, Josie Wilcox finished fifth in 17:37.66, Erin Huddleston finished sixth with a time of 17:47, and Ashley Scott rounded out the scoring with a 17:55.18 seventh-place finish. Macpherson, Krieg, Wilcox and Huddletson each recorded personal record times.

Marc Scott took fifth place in the men's race with a time of 25:12.70, and Danny Thater placed 10th with a time of 25:28.81. Emmett Cookson ran a personal-best time of 25:36.85 to finish 12th, and Brian Tabb rounded out the TU men scoring with a 21st-place personal-best time of 25:58.90.

The Golden Hurricane returns to action Sept. 28 when it travels to South Bend, Ind., for the Notre Dame Invitational.
