NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Sophomore Marc Scott and senior Chris O'Hare placed seventh and eighth, respectively, to lead the Tulsa men's cross country team to a second-place finish at the Notre Dame Invitational on a hot Friday afternoon at the Notre Dame Golf Course.

The seventh-ranked Golden Hurricane scored 124 team points, 11 shy of the 113 scored by first-place No. 30 Columbia. Scott ran the 8K race in 24:38.1, while O'Hare ran a 24:38.7. TU finished in front of seven other ranked teams, including 23 points ahead of third place and ninth-ranked Princeton.

"The guys ran well," Tulsa Head Coach Steve Gulley said. "We had a tough day with some heat issues, but it was a good effort."

Junior Danny Thater ran 24:48.3 to place 17th, and redshirt freshman Adam Palamar finished 31st with a time of 25:01.9 in his first collegiate cross country race. Senior Andrew Heyes rounded out the TU scoring with a time of 25:25.3.

The Golden Hurricane men's and women's teams return to action Oct. 19 at the Pre-Nationals meet in Terre Haute, Ind.
