LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Tulsa men's cross country team, led by Chris O'Hare's 20th-place finish, took home a seventh-place finish at the NCAA Cross Country Championships Saturday at E.P. `Tom' Sawyer State Park.

O'Hare ran the 10K in a personal-best 29:46.4 to score 13 points for the Golden Hurricane, which totaled 247 points as a team. All five TU scorers placed among the top-100 runners at the meet. The individual runners were not counted in team scoring.

"We're ecstatic. The team ran a great race and they ran aggressive," Tulsa Head Coach Steve Gulley said. "The key was putting together a good race at the national championship, and we did that."

Senior Andrew Heyes put out a personal-record time of 30:10.7 to finish 44th and score 32 points, and senior Paulo Pinheiro placed 81st, scoring 59 points with a time of 30:36.0.

Freshman Marc Scott placed fourth for the Hurricane and 93rd in the race, scoring 71 points with a personal-best time of 30:39.3, and sophomore Danny Thater rounded out the scoring with a 95th-place finish and 72 points in a personal-best time of 30:40.5.

Sophomore Tim Rackers ran the 10K in a personal-best 31:00.7 to place 135th, and sophomore Dennis Hodapp finished 141st with a time of 31:03.5.
