TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Tulsa men's cross country team took home a 27th-place finish at the NCAA Championships on a muddy track in frigid conditions Saturday at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course.

The Golden Hurricane totaled 628 team points. Seniors Chris O'Hare and Andrew Heyes led the Hurricane in their final cross country races for TU. O'Hare placed 50th with a 10K time of 30:54.6, while Heyes ran a 31:23.0 to place 106th.

The temperature was in the 30s during the race, with the wind chill bringing the temperature much lower.

"It was a tough day," Tulsa Head Coach Steve Gulley said. "It was a little bit harder on more of a 1,500-type team in the mud. That contributed to a long day, and we couldn't get in a rhythm."

Junior Tim Rackers finished with a time of 31:56.8, sophomore Marc Scott ran 32:13.3, and junior Danny Thater rounded out the Tulsa scoring with a time of 33:25.8.
