NEW ORLEANS - All-American Paula Whiting was named a USTFCCCA 2011 Division I Cross Country All-Academic honoree, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced today.

The former member of the Golden Hurricane earned her first-career honor, and she was a two-time member of the Conference USA All-Academic team (2010, '11).

Whiting graduated in December 2011 with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology. She maintained a 3.96 grade-point average during her time at Tulsa.

She ended her career with a 49th-place finish at the NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships on Nov. 21, 2011, finishing just nine spots shy of earning her second-career All-American honor (outdoor track and field, 2011).

She was a two-time member of the all-C-USA First Team during her cross country career, and she finished third at the NCAA Midwest Regional each of the last two seasons.
