     Junior distance runner Tim Surface (Jefferson City, Mo.) has been selected to the GTE Academic Spring-At-Large All-America First Team.

     Surface posted the team's fastest time in the indoor 5,000m. He owns the school's second-fastest time for the indoor 3,000m and the third-fastest time for in the indoor mile. He holds the fourth best time in TU history for the outdoor 3,000m and 5,000m.

     As a member of the 2000 First-Team GTE Academic All-America Fall-Winter At-Large, Surface also earned a spot on the 1999 Third-Team GTE Academic All-America Spring At-Large Team. He is a three-time Academic All-WAC selection, a member of the TU Mortar Board, the TU Ultimate Team and has served as an adjunct professor for the TU Business School.
