After having three straight meets, both the men and women's cross country squads will get a well deserved week off from competition. The next meet for both teams will be the Cowboy Jamboree held in Stillwater, Okla., on Saturday, Sept. 30th.

Last season, the women finished seventh out of 16 teams with 123 runners competing in the meet. Senior Margaret Danagher finished 27th for TU with a time of 18:51 over the five-kilometer course. Junior Debbie Cardenas finished 36th with a time of 19:15.

The Hurricane men also finished seventh out of 14 teams with 116 runners. Senior Tim Surface finished 25th with a time of 25:56 on the eight-kilometer course. Sophomore Jared Christiansen finished 58th in a then-personal best time of 27:3.

Top teams from NCAA Div I and Div. II were a part of the Jamboree last season. Topping the list of competitors were defending men's national champion Arkansas and rhe national women's runner-up squad from Arkansas as well as the Div. II champion, Adams State.
