Tulsa, Okla. - The University of Tulsa cross country teams will run in its third meet of 2007 season when they travel to the Cowboy Jamboree hosted by Oklahoma State University on Saturday, September 29, 2007. The meet will be run at the Oklahoma State Cross Country Course in Stillwater, Okla. The collegiate meet begins at 9:10 am with the women, followed by the men at 9:40 am.

The Cowboy Jamboree will be a highly competitive meet for Tulsa, with both teams facing tough competition. The women's team will compete against the Rice women's team that is ranked third in the South Central Region and is also receiving votes for USTFCCCA top-25. TU's men's team will face off against nationally ranked Oklahoma State, ranked eighth.

This is TU's second meet in which they are ranked regionally, the men fell one spot to eighth and women moved up to sixth in the central region.

In last year's race, both team finished in the top-5. The women's team grabbed a fourth-place finish and the men's team earned a fifth-place finish. The Golden Hurricane had three top-30 finishers led by Edwin Henshaw, who finished 10th in the 8K race with a time of 24.45. Joel Stansloski and Brett Turowski were next for TU, with Stansloski clocking a 25:25 and Turowski a 25:51, good for 20th and 29th place, respectively.

Marissa Saunders is the top returning finisher from last year, finishing in 38th place in a time of 19:08 in the 5K race. The women also had three other runners finish in the top-50: Heather Stroeder in 41st (19:11), Lana Kelley in 44th (19:17) and Dawn Nagazina in 45th (19:18).
