TULSA, Okla. - The University of Tulsa men's and women's cross country teams are in South Bend, Ind., to run in the prestigious 57th Annual Notre Dame Invitational Friday at the Notre Dame Cross Country Course.

The women will run a 5K race at 3:15 p.m. CT, and the men will run an 8K race at 4:00 p.m. CT. The Golden Hurricane will face off against some of the top teams in the nation as the 20th-ranked TU men's team is one of 10 ranked squads among the 21 teams competing at Notre Dame, while the TU women's team will run against five ranked squads in the 19-team field.

Joining the Golden Hurricane in the Top 30 of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Poll in the blue race are: No. 10 Florida State, No. 11 North Carolina State, No. 14 Texas A&M, No. 17 Princeton, No. 21 New Mexico, No. 24 Notre Dame, No. 25 Eastern Kentucky, No. 26 Michigan, and No. 29 Washington State.

On the women's side, the Hurricane will run against five teams ranked in the USTFCCCA Poll, including No. 2 Florida State, No. 19 New Mexico, No. 20 Notre Dame, No. 21 Butler, and No. 25 North Carolina State.

For the TU men, junior Emmett Cookson and sophomore Brian Tabb have each run both early season races, while sophomores Dennis Hodapp and Danny Thater, and freshman Marc Scott have run once each this year. Senior Andrew Heyes, junior Chris O'Hare, senior Paulo Pinheiro and sophomore Tim Rackers are running their first race of the season.

Each of the TU women running at Notre Dame has raced at least once this season. Senior Jaclyn Rollins, junior Josie Wilcox, and sophomore Lauren Collette have each run in Tulsa's two races this season, while seniors Erin Huddleston, Melanie Hughes, Sarah Macpherson and Ashley Scott, and sophomores Natasha Cockram and Brandi Krieg have run in one race apiece.
