Cross Country to Run at Pre-Nationals Saturday

TULSA, Okla. - The Tulsa men's and women's cross country teams will run at the Indiana State Pre-National Invitational Saturday at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Ind. The men's 8K race begins at 10 a.m., while the women's 6K race begins at 10:40 a.m.
The ninth-ranked Golden Hurricane men's team is one of 52 teams participating in the 8K run, while the TU women's team is one of 51 teams in the 6K run. The meet is a preview for the NCAA Championships, which will be held Nov. 23 in Terre Haute.
The TU Men are one of nine schools ranked in the latest USTFCCCA Division I National Coaches Poll in the Pre-Nationals race, along with No. 1 Oklahoma State, No. 2 Colorado, No. 4 Oregon, No. 10 Princeton, No. 18 Iona, No. 19 Indiana and No. 29 Stanford.
The Hurricane women will run against 12 ranked opponents, including No. 2 Florida State, No. 6 Oregon, No. 11 Stanford, No. 12 Colorado, No. 14 Michigan, No. 16 Virginia, No. 18 Villanova, No. 19 Oklahoma State, No. 20 Butler, No. 21 William & Mary, No. 23 Princeton and No. 27 Penn State.
The Hurricane men will be led by seniors Chris O'Hare and Andrew Heyes, juniors Emmett Cookson, Tim Rackers, Brian Tabb and Danny Thater, sophomores Jake McDonnell and Marc Scott, and freshmen Nick Criser, Dallas Elmore, Simon Greiner and Adam Palamar.
The TU women will be led by juniors Natasha Cockram and Brandi Krieg, sophomores Rachel Baptista and Janessa Dunn, and freshmen Clara Langley, Olivia Lopez and Stacie Taylor.
