TULSA, Okla. - The Tulsa cross country teams are in Hattiesburg, Miss., for the Conference USA Cross Country Championships Monday at the Pine Belt National Golf Course.

The women's 5K race begins at 9 a.m., while the men's 8K race begins at 10 a.m.

The Golden Hurricane men, ranked No. 19 in the country, look to defend their two straight C-USA titles. The women's team, seeks a return to the top of the podium after finishing second in 2011.

The men's squad, which is also ranked third in the Midwest Region, won the prestigious Notre Dame Invitational on Sept. 28, and turned in a seventh-place finish at the NCAA Pre-Nationals meet on Oct. 13. TU has never finished lower than third at the C-USA Championships since joining the league in 2005.

 

 

The TU women, which are ranked sixth in the Midwest Region, placed 12th at Notre Dame and 19th at Pre-Nationals.
