TULSA, Okla. - The Tulsa cross country teams are prepared for the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships that will take place Friday, Nov. 9, at the MSU Cross Country Course in Springfield, Mo.

The women's 6K race begins at noon, while the men's 10K race begins at 1:15 p.m.

The top two teams and top four individuals not on an advancing team from each region earn automatic bids to the NCAA Championships on Nov. 17 in Louisville, Ky. Additional teams and individuals are chosen through an at-large selection process following the regional competition.

The Golden Hurricane men are ranked No. 19 in the country and third in the Midwest Region behind Oklahoma State and Oklahoma. TU is coming off of its third straight C-USA title. The women's team is ranked fourth in the Midwest Region behind Iowa State, Oklahoma State and Minnesota. TU placed second at the C-USA Championships last week.

The men's squad has also won this season at the prestigious Notre Dame Invitational on Sept. 28, and turned in a seventh-place finish at the NCAA Pre-Nationals meet on Oct. 13. The TU women this season have also placed 12th at Notre Dame and 19th at Pre-Nationals.
