Tulsa, Oklahoma -

The 18th annual Golden Cane All-Sports Awards Gala is scheduled for Tuesday, April 30 at 6:00 p.m. inside the Donald W. Reynolds Center.  The red carpet gala serves as a year-end celebration for all friends of Golden Hurricane Athletics.  Co-hosted by the TU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (TUSAAC), the Golden Hurricane Club and the TU Lettermen's Association, the event showcases the many accomplishments of all TU student-athletes, team managers, and athletic trainers for their achievements on the field, in the classroom, and in the community.

The evening's top honors will be awarded to TU's "Ultimate Team" members, while the Wilson Holloway Ultimate Service Award, Outstanding Team Community Service Award, Faculty Member of the Year Award, Dr. Barry A. Kinsey Faculty Athletics Representative Award, Dan Bitson Courage Award and Warren Garrison Academic Excellence Award will also be presented.  Newly appointed Vice President and Director of Athletics, Dr. Derrick Gragg, will be on hand to present the Golden Hanger Award, awarded annually to the evening's best dressed student-athlete.  In addition, guests in attendance will hear musical performances by TU student-athletes Aaron Thornburg (men's cross country/track & field), Jocelyn Sheffield (softball) and Rachel Perry (women's rowing), and Michael Mudoh (football).

For those Golden Hurricane fans unable to attend, this year's ceremony will be streamed live online via Hurricane Vision.  Click here to watch the 2013 Golden Cane All-Sports Awards Gala.  Please note that Internet Explorer is the preferred browser for viewing video on Hurricane Vision.
