Tulsa, Oklahoma - The TU Lettermen's Association and The University of Tulsa's Athletic Department has instituted a program called "Beyond Sports: Career Nights" for Golden Hurricane student-athletes this year. The first in a series of six seminars will take place on Monday, September 26th.

Beyond Sports is a program created to help ease the transition for student-athletes from athletics into the workplace by expanding on the current and future career interests of TU's student-athletes. The seminars are intended to assist TU student-athletes about their futures and the proper steps in creating a successful career. At the first seminar, `Career Athletes', a leading provider of a wide range of dedicated career development services and software with collegiate athletics, will introduce ways to help student-athletes develop a career "Game Plan" and present the necessary techniques each student-athlete should use to create a competitive advantage for themselves and for possible future employers.

The first seminar will be broken down into two segments for TU student-athletes. The Freshman/Sophomore portion of this seminar takes place between 7-8 p.m., while the Junior/Senior portion follows at 8-9 p.m.

In the freshman/sophomore session, `Career Athletes' will discuss how to develop a career game plan and what will make a student-athlete attractive to an organization. In the junior/senior segment, `Career Athletes' will discuss how a student-athlete can sell him or herself and how to create a personal competitive advantage.
