Lettermen's Association Hosts 24th Annual Golf Tournament

Nov. 5, 2012

Tulsa, Oklahoma - On Friday, October 19th, the TU Lettermen's Association held its annual Homecoming Golf Tournament at Battle Creek Golf Club in Broken Arrow. This year's presenting sponsor was Eastern Oklahoma Orthopedic Center (EOOC). The 24th-annual event was a tremendous success with 220 letter winners and friends of TU Athletics participating in the one-day tournament. The number of entrants represented the largest number of golfers to partake in this tournament. Tournament winners were former TU men golfers Tyler Carson, Mitch Cohlmia, Jake Chominsky and Brett Myers.

By winning the tournament, the team was eligible to compete in the Acura College Alumni Team Championship. This past weekend, winner Jake Chominsky teamed with Pat Patterson, Ross Cunningham and Austin Hackett to represent the TU Lettermen's Association at the Acura College Alumni Team Championship at Pinehust in North Carolina.

In addition to the tournament, the TU Lettermen's Association hosted the 4th-annual All Sports Reception in the ONEOK Club Lounge at H.A. Chapman Stadium later that evening. Over 150 past letter winners from all sports attended the event, which included a silent auction which raised over $3,500 for the TU Lettermen's Association.

Proceeds from these two events help to provide TU signet rings for all graduating student-athletes and letter jackets for all first-year letter winners. In addition, throughout the year, the Lettermen's Association hosts various enrichment activities designed to enhance the student-athlete's experience while at TU as well as prepare TU student-athletes for life after sports.
