Jeremy Ballard is in his fifth season as an assistant basketball coach at The University of Tulsa. He came to Tulsa after a brief stint at Mercer University.

In his first four seasons, Ballard has helped the Golden Hurricane post a 92-50 record, advance to post-season action and capture 20+ wins in three of those seasons. In his first year, the Hurricane posted a 25-14 record, advanced to the Conference USA Championship Game and won the inaugural post-season College Basketball Invitational Championship.

In 2009, Tulsa won another 25 games, finished second in the C-USA standings, played in the C-USA Tournament Championship Game for the second consecutive season and advanced to the NIT. A year later, the Hurricane won 23 games and made its second straight NIT appearance in 2009-10. Tulsa was one win shy of another 20-win season with a 19-13 record last year.

Ballard spent three seasons as an assistant basketball coach at his alma mater, Colgate University (2004-07). Before that, he coached the Atlanta All-Stars AAU program for one year.

A 2003 graduate of Colgate, Ballard earned four varsity letters with the Raiders, and served as a co-captain in his senior season. He played in 63 games during his career including 18 starting assignments during the 2002-03 campaign.

He was only the third two-time winner of the prestigious ECAC Merit Medal Award in Colgate history, and was named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll in 2002 and 2003.

In 2001, Ballard received the team's Hasan Brown Award, given to the player who typifies the spirit of Colgate basketball, and in 2003 he was the recipient of the Coaches Award as the best defensive player.

Ballard received his bachelor's degree in English with a minor in Religion. His wife's name is Khatera.
