EL PASO, Texas - Jordan Clarkson scored career-high 21 points to lead the Tulsa basketball team to a, 81-72, win over Rice in the 2011 Buick Conference USA Men's Basketball Championship Thursday evening at the Don Haskins Center.

The Golden Hurricane (19-12) advances to the semifinal round to play UTEP at 3 p.m. CT Friday on CBS College Sports. It is the fourth straight year TU has advanced to the semifinals of the C-USA Tournament.

Four Tulsa players scored into double figures in the game as D.J. Magley tied his career high with 10 points, and Justin Hurtt and Steven Idlet added 15 and 12 points, respectively.

TU put out its best shooting percentage of the season hitting 27-of-48 shots from the field for 56 percent. The Hurricane held a 38-30 rebounding advantage over Rice, which ended its season with a 14-18 record. Tulsa scored almost half of its points in the paint, with 40, and the TU bench scored 34 points.
