Tulsa Takes 92-73 Exhibition Win over Southwest Baptist

Ten players scored at least five points for the Golden Hurricane, as Scottie Haralson and Kodi Maduka each added nine points. TU shot 48 percent from the floor, including 57 percent in the second half, and made 32 free throws, shooting 71 percent from the line.
Joe Richard led the Hurricane with nine rebounds and four assists, and added eight points.
Tulsa got on the board first with a three pointer by Haralson, who hit a trio of baskets from beyond the arc, as the Hurricane stormed out to a 14-3 lead.
Idlet scored nine of Tulsa's next 14 points as Tulsa took a 26-15 advantage. The Bearcats, however, closed the gap to 33-27 with 5:24 left in the half with a 15-7 spurt.
The Hurricane took a 44-31 lead into the locker room at halftime, outscoring Southwest Baptist 11-4 over the final five-and-a-half minutes of the period.
Tulsa extended its 13-point halftime lead to 18 points on a three-pointer by Donte Medder with 18:21 left in the game.
The Hurricane, which never trailed in the contest, did not allow the Bearcats within 10 points after its first-half burst. TU took its largest lead of the game at 29 points on a three-point shot by Clarkson with 3:33 remaining. Southwest Baptist only got as close as 11 points in the second half, and that was a layup for the first points of the period.
The Golden Hurricane plays its second exhibition game Saturday, Nov. 5, when it plays host to Catawba at 7 p.m. in the Reynolds Center.
