Irving, Texas - University of Tulsa junior center Jerome Jordan was named the Conference USA Men's Basketball Player of the Week, as announced today by the league office. Jordan shared the honor this week with UTEP's Randy Culpepper.

Jordan, a 7'0" center from Kingston, Jamaica, helped the Golden Hurricane to road wins over Southern Miss and Charlotte last week. Jordan averaged 16.5 points and 10.0 rebounds in 24.5 minutes as TU posted wins over Southern Miss (67-58) and Charlotte (65-50). He shot 65-percent from the field (13-of-20) and 87-percent from the free throw line (7-of-8).

In Tulsa's C-USA debut, he tallied 17 points and 14 rebounds in 27 minutes at Southern Miss (with 13 points and 11 rebounds in the second half and nine of Tulsa's final 11 points). At Charlotte, Jordan scored 16 points and grabbed six boards in 22 minutes, as all 16 of those points came in 17 minutes in the second half.

This is Jordan's third Player of the Week honor this season.
