HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Tulsa men's basketball team concludes its two-game road trip against Marshall at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Cam Henderson Center. The game will be televised by CBS Sports Network. TU Head Coach Danny Manning Previews the matchup.

The Golden Hurricane (7-10, 2-1 C-USA) has won three of its last four games, and is seeking its first road victory of the season. TU is also looking to defeat the Thundering Herd (6-12, 0-3 C-USA) for the first time in three tries. The game will also be broadcast on the Hurricane Radio Network, KRMG AM 740/102.3 FM in Tulsa, and network affiliates.

Men's Basketball Drops 79-61 Decision at Marshall
Shaquille Harrison, Rashad Ray and James Woodard all scored in double figures, but Tulsa fell at Conference USA foe Marshall, 79-61, Wednesday evening at the Cam Henderson Center.


This is the 15th meeting between Tulsa and Marshall. Tulsa leads the series, 8-6. The Thundering Herd has won two in a row in the series, including a 79-61 victory in Huntington last season. Marshall also won 105-100 in triple overtime in the 2012 C-USA Tournament in Memphis. The Golden Hurricane last won in the series in 2012, a 79-70 regular season victory in Tulsa. Marshall has won three in a row at home in the series, which also includes a 79-61 victory in 2011 and a 64-58 win in 2010. Tulsa's last win in Huntington came in 2009, a 73-57 victory. That victory was in the middle of a four-game winning streak for the Hurricane in the series. TU is 1-5 all-time against Marshall in Huntington, and is 7-0 at home in the series.

Sophomore guard James Woodard leads Tulsa in scoring and rebounding, averaging 14.4 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. Sophomore forward Rashad Smith scores 12.4 points with 5.4 rebounds per game. Shaquille Harrison averages 11.2 points and 3.6 assists per contest. Senior guard Pat Swilling Jr. averages 8.6 points per contest. Sophomore forward D'Andre Wright averages 7.8 points, sophomore guard Rashad Ray scores 5.5 points with 2.5 assists and Lew Evans scores 5.6 points per outing.

The Golden Hurricane averages 74.7 points and 34.4 rebounds per game, shooting .439 from the field, including .347 from 3-point territory. Hurricane opponents average 75.0 points and 37.2 rebounds, while shooting .437 from the field.

In C-USA games: Harrison averages 19.0 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 4.3 apg, and a .741 field goal percentage. Ray averages 11.3 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 3.0 apg, 1.0 spg, a.769 field goal pct., and a .929 free throw pct., Wright averages 10.7 ppg, 5.7 rpg and 1.0 spg, and Woodard averages 14.0 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 2.3 apg, and a .824 free throw pct.. Tim Peete averages 7.7 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 2.3 apg and a .643 field goal pct, Lew Evans averages 7.3 ppg and 6.3 rpg, and Pat Swilling Jr. averages 9.3 ppg.
