NEW ORLEANS - The Tulsa basketball team hit the road again, this time for a trip to New Orleans to take on Conference USA rival Tulane at 1 p.m. Saturday at Devlin Fieldhouse.

The Golden Hurricane enters the game at 11-7 overall and 3-1 in C-USA play, and is coming off a 45-42 win over UTEP on Wednesday, and has won four of its last five games. The Green Wave (12-5, 0-2 C-USA), meanwhile, dropped its first two C-USA games, including a 59-53 defeat at SMU Saturday, and won five in a row prior to entering league play.

Tulsa Pulls Out Win at Tulane, 73-69
Five players scored in double figures, as the Tulsa men's basketball team defeated Tulane, 73-69, Saturday evening at Fogelman Arena.


The game can be seen on Cox Sports Television, Cox Cable Ch. 269 in Tulsa, and will also be broadcast on KRMG AM 740/102.3 FM in Tulsa, and on www.TulsaHurricane.com.

Freshman guard James Woodard leads the active Golden Hurricane players in scoring, averaging 12.7 points, with 5.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. Senior guard Scottie Haralson averages 9.0 points and 3.6 rebounds per contest. Junior guard Pat Swilling, Jr., averages 9.8 points in his 11 games played, and freshman guard Rashad Ray averages 6.9 points. Senior forward Kauri Black puts up 6.9 points and 5.2 rebounds per contest.

The Golden Hurricane averages 64.3 points and 36.6 rebounds per game, and shoots 44 percent from the field, 31 percent from three-point range and 67 percent from the free throw line. TU allows 62.3 points and 33.1 rebounds per contest, as well as a .394 field goal percentage and a .318 three-point percentage.

This is the 14th meeting between Tulsa and Tulane. Tulsa leads the series 9-4. The Golden Hurricane has won five in a row in the series, including both meetings last season, by scores of 60-56 in Tulsa, and 73-69 in New Orleans. TU has won six games in the series since joining Conference USA in 2005-06, by an average margin of 6.3 points. The Green Wave won three in a row in the series from 2007-09, by an average margin of 1.7 points, including two overtime contests. The Hurricane is 3-2 against Tulane all-time in New Orleans.
