Tulsa's Andrews Named C-USA Player of the Week

Irving, Texas - University of Tulsa freshman guard Glenn Andrews was named the Conference USA Player of the Week, it was announced today by the C-USA office.
In two conference games last week, Andrews scored more points (44) than minutes he played (41), while leading the Golden Hurricane in scoring in both games. He averaged 22.0 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists.
The 6-3 guard from Alexandria, Virginia shot 53.8 percent (14-of-26) from the field and 52.6 percent (10-of-19) from three-point range in the two games. He was also a perfect 6-of-6 from the charity stripe. He also had five rebounds, four assists and two steals for the week.
In a two-point overtime loss to Tulane, Andrews scored nine of Tulsa's 18 points in the extra period and led TU with 20 points. In a 72-71 win at SMU, Andrews tallied 14 of his career-high 24 points in the second half.
This is his first Conference USA Player of the Week honor and the first for the Hurricane this season. Andrews is the third freshman to win the award this season along with Derrick Rose of Memphis and Brockeith Pane of Houston.
