TULSA, Okla. - The Tulsa basketball team plays host to East Carolina in an important Conference USA contest at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.

The Golden Hurricane enters the game at 14-11 overall and 6-5 in C-USA play, and in fifth place in the league standings. The Pirates come in at 15-8 overall and 4-6 in league play, tied for sixth in C-USA. TU has won two games in a row, including the epic 101-92 triple overtime victory over Houston on Saturday. ECU is also coming off of an overtime game on Saturday, as it fell to Southern Miss, 86-82, in one extra period. The game will be broadcast on KRMG AM 740/102.3 FM in Tulsa, and on www.TulsaHurricane.com.

Tulsa Picks up Road Win at East Carolina, 70-67
Tulsa faced another tough road test at East Carolina Saturday, and came up with a 70-67 Conference USA victory at Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum.

Wednesday is Mascot Night, and will feature mascots from organizations in Tulsa, such as: Hornsby of the Tulsa Drillers, Volt T. Fox of the Tulsa Shock, Mr. Murph of American Waste Control, Sledge of the Tulsa Oilers, Blazer the Mascot, ATEM Cash of TTCU, Sporty of Sport Clips, and Captain Supertooth of Delta Dental.

The Golden Hurricane averages 67.1 points and 36.4 rebounds per game, and shoots 43 percent from the field, 33 percent from three-point range and 68 percent from the free throw line. TU allows 66.3 points and 34.7 rebounds per contest, as well as a .402 field goal percentage and a .327 three-point percentage.

Freshman guard James Woodard leads the active Golden Hurricane players in scoring, averaging 12.3 points, with 5.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. Senior guard Scottie Haralson averages 9.6 points and 3.6 rebounds per contest. Junior guard Pat Swilling, Jr., averages 10.2 points, freshman forward D'Andre Wright averages 9.1 points and 5.1 rebounds and freshman guard Rashad Ray averages 7.7 points. Senior forward Kauri Black puts up 7.5 points and 4.7 rebounds per contest, while freshman guard Shaquille Harrison adds 2.5 assists and 6.2 points.



East Carolina averages 77.1 points and 37.1 rebounds per game and shoots .450 from the field, .335 from beyond the arc, and .698 from the free throw line. The Pirates allow opponents 71.3 points and 38.0 rebounds per contest, and a .426 field goal percentage and .317 three-point percentage. Maurice Kemp leads C-USA in scoring, averaging 18.0 points per game, and adds 7.8 rebounds. Miguel Paul ranks second in the league with 6.5 assists per contest, and adds 13.2 points. Robert Sampson scores 9.9 points and leads ECU with 9.1 rebounds, and Ty Armstrong contributes 9.4 points per outing.

This is the 11th meeting between Tulsa and East Carolina. The Hurricane leads the series 9-1 and has won the last eight meetings. Tulsa has a 4-0 mark at home, 3-1 on the road and 2-0 in neutral site games. The Hurricane won last year's meeting in Greenville, 70-67. Tulsa has a 20.0 margin of victory in its four home contests against the Pirates.
