MIAMI, Fla. - The Tulsa basketball team completes its South Florida road trip with a contest against FIU at 1 p.m. CT Saturday at U.S. Century Bank Arena.

The Golden Hurricane (14-12, 9-3 C-USA) has won four in a row and 10 of its last 13 games. The Panthers (13-14, 5-7 C-USA) are 4-6 in their last 10 games, including a 65-63 loss to North Texas on Thursday. This will be the second meeting between Tulsa and FIU. The Hurricane took an 81-49 victory on Nov. 15, 2009 in Tulsa.

Ben Uzoh scored 20 points and Justin Hurtt added 16 as Tulsa beat Florida International 81-49 on Sunday, dropping Isiah Thomas to 0-3 to start his college coaching career.


The game will be broadcast on the Golden Hurricane Radio Network, which can be found on KRMG AM 740/102.3 FM in Tulsa, and affiliates, or on www.TulsaHurricane.com.

Sophomore guard James Woodard leads Tulsa in scoring and rebounding, averaging 14.8 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. Sophomore forward Rashad Smith scores 12.8 points with 5.2 rebounds per game. Shaquille Harrison averages 9.5 points and 3.5 assists per contest. Sophomore forward D'Andre Wright averages 7.6 points, sophomore guard Rashad Ray scores 6.0 points and Lew Evans scores 5.7 points and 4.2 rebounds per outing, while Tim Peete averages 4.9 points and Brandon Swannegan averages 4.1 points.

 

 

The Golden Hurricane averages 73.2 points and 36.0 rebounds per game, shooting .444 from the field, including .340 from 3-point territory. Hurricane opponents average 68.5 points and 35.7 rebounds, while shooting .410 from the field.
