Greenville, NC - Tulsa gets back into conference action on Saturday night against the East Carolina Pirates. The Golden Hurricane is in need of a victory after dropping its last four contests, the latest an 18-point setback at No. 5 Duke on Thursday night.

With only on full day between games the Hurricane will have its' hands full against a scrappy East Carolina team.

The Pirates are a dangerous team with only one senior on the roster. Junior guard Brock Young leads three Pirate players in double-figure scoring with a 15.0 average while leading C-USA in assists with 5.8 per game. 6'8" sophomore Darrius Morrow averaged 12.1 points and a team-leading 6.8 rebounds while shooting 56-percent from the field. Fellow 6'8" forward, junior Jamar Abrams, averages 11.1 points and 5.0 rebounds.

Tulsa's Ben Uzoh will look to continue a string of scoring over 20 points in conference games, as the senior has registered three 20+ games in the last three Conference USA games --20 against Memphis, 22 at Marshall and 22 against first-place UTEP.

Uzoh averages a team-leading 15.8 points and 4.4 assists, and also grabs 4.9 rebounds from his point guard position. He had 23 points in last year's game against the Pirates. In the last meeting at Minges Coliseum in 2008 Uzoh tallied a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Fellow senior Jerome Jordan scored at a 15.1 clip and leads the team in rebounds with 8.6 and blocks with 2.6 per game. Junior Justin Hurtt has averaged 13.7 points and is shooting 38-percent from three-point range for the Hurricane. Sophomore Steven Idlet joined Jordan and Hurtt in scoring double-digits on Thursday night at Duke, as Idlet had 10 points, Hurtt 11 and Jordan a team-high 12 points. Idlet averaged 7.0 points and 6.1 rebounds coming off the bench for the Hurricane.

Tulsa has a 6-1 series advantage against the Pirates, having won the last five contests. Tulsa claimed a victory in its last Minges Coliseum appearance with a 66-61 win on Feb. 13, 2008, while ECU's lone win in the series came in Doug Wojcik's first season as the Hurricane coach, on Jan. 28, 2006, by a score of 59-45.

The game can be heard locally in Tulsa on KRMG Radio 740 AM/FM 102.3 or on the internet at TulsaHurricane.com.
