Tulsa Travels to Mississippi State Third Round NIT Game
March 20, 2001 Tulsa, Okla. - The University of Tulsa will take to the road for its third round NIT game as the Golden Hurricane travels to face the Mississippi State Bulldogs of the Southeastern Conference on Wednesday, March 21. Tipoff is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. (CT) at Humphrey Coliseum in Starkville, Mississippi. Tulsa, now 23-11 on the season, advanced in the NIT with a second round 76-73 overtime victory over Minnesota on Monday night. Mississippi State upended Pittsburgh, 66-61, in second round action to improve to 18-12 overall on the year. The game will be televised on ESPN2 with Derrin Horton and Jimmy Dykes calling the action. Fans can also hear the game on KTBZ Radio AM 1430.
The Tulsa-Mississippi State winner will advance to the NIT semifinals, March 27, at Madison Square Gardens in New York City.
