Tulsa, Okla. - University of Tulsa Head Basketball coach Doug Wojcik announced today the signing of Kansas City high school product Justin Hurtt to a national letter-of-intent.

Hurtt, a 6'4", 180-pound guard, was a two-year letterwinner and starter at Archbishop O'Hara High School. He transferred to Archbishop O'Hara from Blue Ridge Christian High School.

Last year, Hurtt averaged 17.9 points and 6.5 rebounds, while shooting 46-percent from the field and 31-percent from three-point range. He was a first-team all-conference and all-district selection last year.

Hurtt, who possesses a 42-inch vertical leap, was also a first-team all-conference performer as a junior, while averaging 17.0 points and 6.0 rebounds.

"We're excited to have Justin join our basketball program," said Wojcik. "Justin is a tremendous athlete. He is outstanding in the open court and has the ability to finish a play. He has a great work ethic and is very good student."

Hurt participated in the Kansas City High School All-Star game, where he won the slam dunk contest.

"Justin is very explosive. He can beat anyone off the dribble and can jump out of the gym," said Archbishop O'Hara Head Coach Todd Maguire. "In 14 years of coaching, I've never seen a player as smooth as he is on the basketball court. He has great upside. He can be a tremendous player at The University of Tulsa."
