Tulsa has forced opponents into 20.5 turnovers while committing
15.5 turnovers themselves. After 35 games, the
Hurricane has had 18 games with 14 or less
turnovers, whereas a year ago Tulsa had 14 or
less turnovers in just eight games for the entire
season.
Tulsa has forced 716
turnovers through 35 games, which betters the
previous school record of 688 established in 33
games in the 1980-81 season. The average forced
turnovers per game by the 1980-81 Tulsa team was
20.8.
Through the first
five games this year, Tulsa did not have a game
with more than 14 turnovers, then in the sixth
game against UAB the Hurricane set a school
record with 34 miscues.
Tulsa had a
season-low six turnovers against St. Joseph's,
which was the lowest since committing just five
turnovers against Indiana State on Feb. 28, 1994.

Tulsa has had 18 games of forcing the opposition
into 20 or more turnovers, including seven
opponents topping 25 turnovers. Last year, Tulsa
forced its opponents into 20 or more turnovers in
just 10 games for the entire season.
Against
Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Tulsa forced 39 turnovers,
which broke the previous school record of 37
turnovers for an opponent which was established
against Charleston Southern (Dec. 14, 1991) and
Prairie View A&M (Dec. 17, 1995).
The six other
opponents with more than 25 turnovers this year
include St. Joseph's (25), UTSA (30), UAB (29),
Delaware State (26), Centenary (25) and Rice
(35). Rice's 35 turnovers in a Feb. 4 game was
two more than the Owls had points (33).
