Last week Tulsa appeared in the Associated Press poll for the 11th consecutive week, and was ranked 14th nationally. The highest ranking this year was 12th for the week of Feb. 21, which was the highest since being ranked 12th for two weeks in the 1984-85 season (Jan. 29 and Feb. 19).
  The highest-ever ranking for the Hurricane was 6th, the week of Feb. 16, 1982. Tulsa was ranked for the 10th straight week in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches Poll, as the Hurricane came in ranked 17th for the second week in a row.
  Tulsa first jumped into the Associated Press' top-25 with a ranking of 25th the week of Dec. 27. It was the first national ranking for the Hurricane since the February 4, 1997 rankings, when the Hurricane was ranked 22nd in the AP poll. Tulsa debuted at #22 earlier that season for the week of Nov. 26, 1996.
