2012 Manning Coaches Clinic

University of Tulsa Head Basketball Coach Danny Manning and his staff will host its first annual coaches clinic featuring Fran Fraschilla, Jay Bilas, and Steve Bardo.

After being an assistant coach at Providence with current University of Texas coach Rick Barnes, Fran Fraschilla served as head men's basketball coach at Manhattan College, St. John's University and University of New Mexico. He is currently with ESPN as broadcast analyst.

Jay Bilas was a four-year starter for Mike Krzyzewski on the Duke basketball team from 1983-1986, and helped lead the Blue Devils to the NCAA Final Four and National Championship game in 1986. Bilas is currently a college basketball analyst for ESPN and CBS Sports.

Steve Bardo had standout career at the University of Illinois. He was part of the Flyin' Illini team that qualified for the 1989 NCAA Final Four. Bardo played professional basketball from 1990-2000 and has gone on to appear as a sports reporter for WBBM-TV in Chicago, color analyst for college basketball on ESPN and color analyst for the Illini Sports Network.

The clinic will take place on the evening of October 26 and during the day on October 27 before TU takes on Emporia State in the first exhibition game of the season.

The schedule for Friday, Oct. 26, includes talks by Coach Manning, the Tulsa coaching staff and Bardo, as well as taking in a team practice and coaches social. On Saturday, Oct. 27, guests will listen to Fran Fraschilla and Jay Bilas speak, take in the Tulsa Basketball shoot-around and have the opportunity to watch TU take on Emporia State at 3:00 pm.

Each clinic participant will receive a clinic booklet, continental breakfast Saturday morning, admittance into the coaches social and free ticket the TU-Emporia State Basketball game. Pre-registration for the clinic is $60 and is encouraged. Admission the day of the clinic is $70. Additional game tickets can be purchased at $10 apiece. A question & answer session with all speakers is encouraged throughout the event.
