Tulsa Plays Panhandle State in Second Exhibition Game Sunday

TULSA, Okla. - The Tulsa men's basketball team plays its second exhibition game of the preseason at 4:35 p.m. Sunday when it takes on Oklahoma Panhandle State in the Donald W. Reynolds Center.
The men's game will be preceded by the TU women's basketball exhibition game against Mid-American Christian at 2 p.m.
This will be the second all-time meeting between the Golden Hurricane and the Aggies of Panhandle State. As in last week's game against Emporia State, the previous meeting was an official game. In 1937, the Golden Hurricane defeated the Aggies, 46-21, at the All-College Tournament in Oklahoma City.
Last week, TU beat Emporia State, 60-49, in the initial exhibition contest of the season. In that game, sophomore forward Rashad Smith led the Hurricane with 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting, with nine rebounds. Freshman guard James Woodard scored 12 points with five rebounds. Freshman guards Shaquille Harrison and Rashad Ray led TU with five and four assists, respectively. TU shot 38 percent from the field and held the Hornets to 32 percent shooting.
The Danny Manning era officially opens Sunday, Nov. 11, when the Golden Hurricane plays host to LSU Shreveport at 7 p.m. All tickets and concession stand items for the season opener will be half-price. In addition, all fans coming to the game will receive a TU Basketball T-shirt.
