TULSA, Okla. - The Tulsa men's basketball team will travel down to Norman Saturday for a contest against in-state foe Oklahoma at 4 p.m. at the Lloyd Noble Center. The game will be televised by Fox Sports Oklahoma, Cox Cable Ch. 27.

The Golden Hurricane (3-6) and Sooners (8-1) are meeting on the basketball court for the first time since the 2008 season. This is also the first true road game for TU since Nov. 23 at Creighton. The game will also be broadcast live on the Golden Hurricane Radio Network, KRMG AM 740/102.3 FM in Tulsa, and network affiliates.

Justin Hurtt scored 10 points and Ben Uzoh scored nine but the Golden Hurricane still fell to sixth-ranked Oklahoma, 69-44, on Sunday first game played in the new BOK Center in downtown Tulsa.

Sophomore guard James Woodard leads Tulsa in scoring and rebounding, averaging 13.4 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. Sophomore forward Rashad Smith scores 12.9 points with 5.4 rebounds per game. Shaquille Harrison averages 9.6 points and 3.8 assists per contest. Senior guard Pat Swilling Jr. averages 8.3 points per contest. Sophomore forward D'Andre Wright averages 6.4 points, sophomore guard Rashad Ray scores 5.2 points with 3.0 assists and Lew Evans scores 5.1 points per outing.

The Golden Hurricane averages 72.2 points and 34.7 rebounds per game, shooting .432 from the field. Hurricane opponents average 73.9 points and 37.7 rebounds, while shooting .433 from the field.



All five starters score in double digits for Oklahoma, led by forward Cameron Clark, who averages 18.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. Guard Buddy Heild scores 16.4 points and adds 4.6 rebounds per contest, while forward Ryan Spangler leads the Sooners with 9.3 rebounds per game and scores 11.2 points per outing. Guards Isaiah Cousins and Jordan Woodard average 11.2 and 10.6 points per game, respectively, and Woodard adds 4.6 assists per contest.

OU averages 86.7 points and 38.9 rebounds per game, shooting .479 from the field. The Sooners' opponents average 75.2 points and 37.1 rebounds per game, shooting .413 from the field.

This is the 40th meeting between Tulsa and Oklahoma. Oklahoma leads the series, 28-11. The Sooners won the last meeting, 69-44, on Dec. 7, 2008 at the BOK Center in Tulsa. OU has won six in a row in the series, since 2003. The Golden Hurricane last defeated the Sooners in 1996, 78-75, at the All-College Tournament in Oklahoma City. OU has won 12 of the last 13 meetings since 1987. Prior to that run, the Hurricane won four in a row from 1980-85. This will be just the seventh meeting in Norman since 1975, and 11th meeting at the schools' home gym during that time - a span of 20 contests. The teams have played 13 games in the series at neutral or non-home sites. TU is 4-10 all-time against OU in Norman.
