Basketball Plays Host to Grand Canyon Wednesday

TULSA, Okla. - The Tulsa men's basketball team returns home to play host to Grand Canyon at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Donald W. Reynolds Center in the final home contest of the 2013 portion of the schedule for the Hurricane.
This will be the first meeting between the Golden Hurricane (3-7) and the Antelopes (5-4). The game will be broadcast live on the Golden Hurricane Radio Network, KRMG AM 740/102.3 FM in Tulsa, and network affiliates.
Santa Claus will be in attendance at the game, and fans will have the opportunity to take their photos with the jolly man in the red suit between 6:30-7:30 p.m. on the west concourse of the Reynolds Center.
Sophomore guard James Woodard leads Tulsa in scoring and rebounding, averaging 14.0 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. Sophomore forward Rashad Smith scores 12.2 points with 5.0 rebounds per game. Shaquille Harrison averages 10.3 points and 3.9 assists per contest. Senior guard Pat Swilling Jr. averages 9.2 points per contest. Sophomore forward D'Andre Wright averages 6.8 points, sophomore guard Rashad Ray scores 5.0 points with 2.8 assists and Lew Evans scores 5.3 points per outing. The Golden Hurricane averages 74.1 points and 34.4 rebounds per game, shooting .437 from the field. Hurricane opponents average 76.6 points and 38.2 rebounds, while shooting .438 from the field.
Grand Canyon is led by Demetrius Walker, who averages 17.9 points per game, and by Killian Larson, who averages 15.7 points and 12.3 rebounds per game. Jerome Garrison adds 12.7 points per contest. The Antelopes average 73.7 points and 38.8 rebounds per game, shooting .434 from the field. GCU opponents average 67.2 points and 34.4 rebounds, shooting .411 from the field.
