TULSA, Okla. - The Tulsa men's basketball team returns from its holiday break to take on the Mercer Bears at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.

The contest is the second half of a doubleheader with the TU women's basketball team, which plays Nebraska-Omaha at 6 p.m. A ticket for the men's game is good for admission to the women's game. The Golden Hurricane (5-7) fell to Creighton, 83-64, in its last contest, and looks to bounce back against the Bears (8-5) in the first ever meeting between the two schools.

Jordan Clarkson leads the Hurricane, which scores 65.8 points per game, with 15.3 points and 2.5 assists per contest. Scottie Haralson averages 12.2 points and 3.3 three-pointers made per game, while Steven Idlet scores 10.3 points and grabs 5.8 rebounds per game. Tim Peete, who has started each of the last seven games, also dishes 2.5 assists per outing, while Kodi Maduka leads TU with 6.4 rebounds and adds 7.0 points.

The Golden Hurricane ranks 19th in the nation in rebounding margin, averaging 37.9 rebounds per game to its opponents' 31.3 rpg. The TU defense holds its foes to a .416 field goal percentage and 64.9 points per game. TU shoots 43 percent from the floor.

Mercer is led by Langston Hall, who averages 13.1 points and 3.9 assists per game. Justin Cecil and Jakob Gollon score 10.8 and 10.4 points per game, respectively, and Gollon adds a team-leading 5.8 rebounds per contest. Daniel Coursey blocks 2.2 shot and adds 8.3 points per outing. The Bears allow 65.4 points and a /.383 shooting percentage, and score 69.0 points and shoot .441 from the floor. Mercer holds a slim advantage in rebounding, 36.3 to 34.2 rebounds per game.
