Basketball Plays at Maryland Sunday

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Tulsa men's basketball team returns to action after a week-long break for a road contest against Maryland at 6 p.m. CT Sunday at the Comcast Center.
The contest will be televised on ESPNU. The game can also be heard on the Hurricane Radio Network, KRMG AM 740/102.3 FM in Tulsa, and network affiliates.
This is just the second-ever meeting between Tulsa (4-8) and Maryland (7-5). Maryland won the only other game between the two schools, 66-59, at the Hurricane Classic in Miami, Fla., on Dec. 28, 1964.
Sophomore guard James Woodard leads Tulsa in scoring and rebounding, averaging 13.8 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. Sophomore forward Rashad Smith scores 12.4 points with 5.4 rebounds per game. Shaquille Harrison averages 9.8 points and 3.8 assists per contest. Senior guard Pat Swilling Jr. averages 8.7 points per contest. Sophomore forward D'Andre Wright averages 6.7 points, sophomore guard Rashad Ray scores 4.4 points with 2.4 assists and Lew Evans scores 5.3 points per outing.
The Golden Hurricane averages 72.1 points and 34.6 rebounds per game, shooting .430 from the field. Hurricane opponents average 75.1 points and 37.2 rebounds, while shooting .438 from the field.
Maryland is led by Dez Wells, who averages 15.5 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. Jake Layman scores 14.9 points and adds 5.3 rebounds per outing, and Evan Smotrycz leads the Terps with 7.3 rebounds and scores 12.5 points per contest.
The Terrapins average 73.8 points and 39.2 rebounds per game, shooting .451 from the field. UM opponents average 67.8 points and 32.5 rebounds per outing, shooting .413 from the field.
