Greg Peterson is in his first season on the coaching staff at The University of Tulsa. Peterson was named as the Golden Hurricane offensive coordinator and receivers coach on January 18, 2011. Peterson brings 27 years of collegiate coaching experience to Tulsa. During his career, he has coached in the Big 12, PAC-10 and Mountain West Conferences. Peterson has been a part of 11 bowl games in his coaching career, including 10 at Kansas State and one at Colorado State. Peterson spent the 2010 season as the offensive coordinator at Northern Colorado. As Northern Colorado's offensive coordinator, the Bears scored the most points and had the highest rushing total in school history since becoming a Division I school, while also turning in the school's second-best total ever for passing and total yards. Before his one year at Northern Colorado, Peterson spent two years as the offensive coordinator, recruiting coordinator and receivers coach at Colorado State. In his first year, the Rams averaged 396 yards per game to rank 41st nationally en route to an overall 7-6 record. In his tenure at CSU, Peterson coached two-all-conference performers, one Biletnikoff Award candidate and had two receivers go on to the NFL. Peterson spent two years at Washington State (2006-07) as tight ends coach and recruiting coordinator. At WSU, two of his players earned all-conference accolades and he had three tight ends move on to the NFL. Before that, he served on Bill Snyder's staff at Kansas State for 12 years (1994-2005), where he was a part of 10 bowl teams. At KSU, he served in various capacities, including 11 seasons as kickoff return coordinator, receivers coach for 11 years, passing game coordinator for six years and co-offensive coordinator for two seasons. In his tenure at Kansas State, Peterson coached nine all-conference receivers, eight All-Americans, eight Biletnikoff Award candidates and had 14 receivers go on to the NFL. He was a part of 109 wins in those 12 seasons with the Wildcats. He began his coaching career at his alma mater as Nebraska Wesleyan's wide receiver coach in the 1984 campaign. Peterson earned his bachelor's degree in business administration and physical education from Nebraska Wesleyan in 1984, and his master's degree in Education from Eastern Oregon in 1991. He and his wife, Leanna, have two children: Taylor and Rachael.
