TULSA FOOTBALL RETURNS TO SPRING PRACTICE
March 26, 2013
Tulsa, Oklahoma - The Tulsa football team was back on the practice field today after returning from spring break. It was the eighth practice session for the Golden Hurricane with only six more practices remaining before the April 6th Spring Game.
The Hurricane returned from the week-long break and went through a two-hour workout that included a scrimmage on the turf of H.A. Chapman Stadium.
"Our retention was good," said Head Coach Bill Blankenship. "I thought our defense really brought it today. They had a much better attitude about the day and had a little more dominance. The offense was a little sluggish. We had some big plays later in the scrimmage on offense. We tried to crank it up pretty good today for the first real practice back from spring break.
With six practices remaining before the annual spring game, Blankenship still has a lot for this team to accomplish before the end of spring drills.
"We talked to our players about this before spring break. We're really down to not many work days left. Of the seven we have left, one's the spring game and we have to have two days in shorts. We have a lot of growth from our offense and defense in terms of execution to get accomplished. We're much improved, but we're no where near where we need to be at the end of spring drills," added Blankenship.
The Hurricane will be back on the practice field on Thursday for a 3:30 pm workout.
