Tulsa, Oklahoma - The annual Tulsa Metro Chamber of Commerce Golden Hurricane Kickoff Luncheon signals the beginning of the college football season for The University of Tulsa.

This year's Chamber Kickoff Luncheon will take place at the Tulsa Convention Center's Tulsa Ballroom on Friday, August 17, beginning at 12 noon.

Tickets for the luncheon are $30.00 per person or $300 for a table sponsorship. To RSVP, call the Golden Hurricane Club office at 918.631.2570 or email ashleyd@utulsa.edu. RSVP deadline is Friday, August 3.

Fans will get an opportunity to hear from the Head Coach Bill Blankenship as well as get a sneak peak of the Golden Hurricane football team with video highlights, an introduction of the team and a special "Family Feud" episode between the offense and defense.

Tulsa returns 13 starters from last year's 8-5 football team, including six on offense and seven defensive starters. Eighty-five percent of Tulsa's 2011 rushing total and 76-percent of Tulsa's pass receiving total returns to the Hurricane offensive unit, while three of Tulsa's top four tacklers are back in the 2012 defense for the Hurricane.

Tulsa kicks off the regular season against the Iowa State Cyclones on September 1 in Ames, Iowa, and opens the home season a week later against the Tulane Green Wave in a Conference USA match-up on Saturday, September 8.
