Tulsa's Damaris Johnson Named C-USA Special Teams Player of the Week

Irving, Texas - The University of Tulsa's Damaris Johnson was named the Conference USA Special Teams Player of the Week, it was announced today by the C-USA office.
Johnson had a game-changing 66-yard punt return for a touchdown to give Tulsa a 30-10 lead at the 12:19 mark of the fourth quarter en route to a 37-13 victory over Tulane on Friday night.
The sophomore from Norco, Louisiana, totaled 252 all-purpose yards, tallying 31 rush yards, 60 receiving yards, 76 kickoff return yards and 85 punt return yards.
After week one, Johnson is ranked third nationally in all-purpose yards, sixth for punt returns and 25th for kickoff returns. The weekly league honor for Johnson is the third of his two-year career.
UAB senior quarterback Joe Webb was named the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week, while defensive honors went to SMU senior defensive back Rock Dennis.
Tulsa is back on the road this Saturday against the New Mexico Lobos in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Game time is 7:00 pm (CT). The game can be seen on The Mountain Network.
