Tulsa, Oklahoma -

The Tulsa football team opens the home season with the Conference USA opener on Saturday against the Tulane Green Wave. Game time is scheduled for 11:05 am at H.A. Chapman Stadium.

Tickets for the game are available online at www.TulsaHurricane.com, by calling 918.631.GoTU (4688) or by stopping by the Donald W. Reynolds Ticket Office. Tickets start as low as $15.00.

Tulsa leads the overall series 7-1 and has won the last seven contests. The Hurricane has outscored the Green Wave 43 to 12.7 points in the seven victories and in the last two home wins has averaged 54 points.

This week's contest could be another high-flying, high scoring affair as the two teams combined to throw 97 times a week ago in their season openers.

Last week, Tulsa dropped its opener with a 38-23 loss at Iowa State. The Hurricane was led by Trey Watts' 125 rushing yards on offense and a pair of defenders, DeAundre Brown and Demarco Nelson, shared the team-lead with 13 tackles. Tulsa quarterback Cody Green completed 23 passes for 198 yards and two touchdowns.

The Green Wave enters with first-year coach Curtis Johnson, who has earned a Super Bowl ring with the New Orleans Saints 2009 and a National Championship ring with the Miami Hurricanes in 2002.

Tulane's offense in a 24-12 opening loss against Rutgers saw the Green Wave throw for 254 yards, while rushing only 16 times for eight yards. Tulane quarterback Ryan Griffin completed 34-of-48 passes and had one touchdown.

Pre-game festivities begin at 8:00 am on Hurricane Alley at Chapman Commons, while the stadium gates open at 9:30 am. On game day, tickets can be purchased at the gates beginning at 9:30 am. The first 7,000 fans will receive a TU Hurricane banner provided by COX Communications.

The game will be televised nationally on FOX Sports Network.
