TU Asks Football Fans to Honor State-Wide Burn Ban
Sept. 22, 2000 Fans planning to tailgate at the Tulsa - Louisiana Tech football game on Saturday are asked not to attempt to barbeque with either gas or charcoal grills during pre-game and post-game festivities. The University of Tulsa athletic department will enforce the state-wide burn ban issued by Gov. Frank Keating. TU encourages fans to pack picnic baskets. Food and beverages will be available for purchase prior to the game in Hurricane Alley (plaza area between Reynolds Center and Skelly Stadium). Hurricane Alley features live music, games for kids and face-painting. Saturday's game is billed as "Fans of the Future" and "Take a Kid" Day. Local elementary and middle school kids with a coupon distributed by their school through the "Fans of the Future" program, will receive free admittance to the game. Through the "Take a Kid to the Game" promotion, for any adult ticket purchase, one child will be admitted free.
Game time for the Tulsa-Louisiana Tech game is 6:05 p.m.
