Irving, Texas - The University of Tulsa's DeAundre Brown was named the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week, it was announced today by the C-USA office.

Brown had a career-high 18 tackles in a 28-21 loss against No. 5 Boise State on Oct. 14. He tallied 9 solo stops and 9 assisted tackles. Brown also had a fumble recovery that led to Tulsa's first touchdown. The 18 tackles are the most for a Tulsa player since Chris Chamberlain had 20 stops on Nov. 10, 2007 against Houston. This is the first Defensive Player of the Week honor for the top tackler on a Golden Hurricane squad that leads C-USA in total defense and scoring defense.

The weekly league honor is the fourth for a Hurricane player this year.
