IRVING, Texas - For the fourth consecutive week, The University of Tulsa football student-athlete has received Conference USA Player of the Week honors. Senior quarterback G.J. Kinne was named the C-USA Offensive Player of the Week as voted on by a panel of the league's media, it was announced today.

Kinne led Tulsa to a 57-28 road victory against UTEP by completing 76 percent of his passes for 300 yards and three touchdowns as the Hurricane offense put up 500 yards of total offense. Kinne also rushed three times for 33 yards and one TD, a four-yard run.

The senior from Gilmer, Texas, had touchdown throws covering 9, 53 and 27 yards. To start the game, Kinne led Tulsa on two consecutive scoring drives covering 81 and 79 yards to give Tulsa a 14-0 lead with less than eight minutes off the first quarter clock. Coming out of halftime and ahead 29-15, Kinne led Tulsa on two third quarter TD drives covering 52 and 71 yards.

The honor is the third career player of the week award for Kinne and first this season.

Kinne, the 2010 C-USA Offensive Player of the Year, has completed 65.7 percent of his passes for 2,700 yards and 24 TDs. He ranks 2nd in Conference USA league games for passing per game (282.7), pass efficiency (163.4), and total offence (321.1). Kinne has five 300+ passing games this year and 14 for his career.

In his career, Kinne has started 36 consecutive games and has a 23-13 record as a starter. He ranks second in school history for career total offensive yards (10,397) and TD passes thrown (77 and third for all-time passing yards (9,082).

The previous three Tulsa weekly award winners were from the defensive side of the ball -- Milton Howell, Curnelius Arnick and Shawn Jackson.

Tulsa plays host to the Houston Cougars on Friday, Nov. 25 at 11:00 am for the Conference USA West Division title and the opportunity to host the C-USA Championship Game a week later.
