IRVING, Texas - West Division champion Tulsa will host the 2012 Conference USA Football Championship Game against East Division champion UCF on Saturday, December 1 at H.A. Chapman Stadium. The Golden Hurricane (7-1 in C-USA play, 9-3 overall) will face the Knights (7-1 in C-USA play, 9-3 overall) for the second time in three weeks after Tulsa posted a 23-21 win over UCF on November 17. The 2012 C-USA Championship Game will be televised live on ESPN or ESPN 2, beginning at Noon EST/11 a.m. CST.

"Tulsa and UCF will be a terrific matchup for this year's championship game," said Commissioner Britton Banowsky. "These teams have a championship history against each other and both have been very impressive in winning their divisions this season. We are looking forward to returning our championship to Tulsa and having a great game."

This will be the third time in the eight-year history of the C-USA Football Championship Game that the two schools have faced each other, with the first two meetings taking place in Orlando. Tulsa won the inaugural C-USA Championship Game in 2005 at the Citrus Bowl, 44-27, as RB Tarrion Adams rushed for three touchdowns and TE Garrett Mills set a new NCAA record for receiving yards by a tight end (1,153) after catching eight passes for 152 yards in the game. Two years later, record-setting UCF RB Kevin Smith rushed for 284 yards and scored four touchdowns to lead the Knights to a 44-25 win in the first season of Bright House Networks Stadium.

Both schools will be making their fourth overall appearance in the C-USA Football Championship Game, as Tulsa hosted the game in 2008, losing to East Carolina and UCF hosted in 2010, defeating SMU. UCF is 2-1 in C-USA Championship Games, while Tulsa is 1-2.

Tulsa leads the all-time series, 4-2, and the Golden Hurricane has won both of the meetings that have taken place in Tulsa, including the 23-21 decision on November 17. In that game, TU QB Cody Green connected with WR Keyarris Garrett on three touchdown passes and the Tulsa defense limited UCF's offense to 66 yards rushing (123 yards below its season average), 235 total yards and two touchdowns. UCF's third TD came on a 76-yard interception return by A. J. Bouye.
