TULSA'S SHAWN JACKSON NAMED C-USA DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

IRVING, Texas - University of Tulsa linebacker Shawn Jackson was selected as the Conference USA's Defensive Player of the Week, as voted on by a panel of the league's media.
The 6'0", 255-pound senior had a dominating defensive performance in helping Tulsa post a 24-14 road victory at Louisiana Tech on Saturday.
Jackson totaled 10 tackles, 3.5 TFLs for -14 yards, including three sacks for -13 yards, and had one interception. Jackson's 29-yard interception return led to Tulsa's second touchdown of the game to put the Golden Hurricane ahead 17-7 in the third quarter. He intercepted the ball at the 49 and returned it to the Tech 20-yard line to set up the Tulsa touchdown.
The honor for Jackson marks the fourth Tulsa player to be recognized this year as league's player of the week, including the second defensive award for a Tulsa player.
